Key Concepts of "Compassion with Dignity":
The motivation for compassion is the heart of God- God is at work in our world!
Requires thoughtful consideration of the long-term impact of a project or intervention.
Strives for sustainable, appropriate, cooperative and participatory, asset-based development.
Is a creative and God-inspired response that matches the unique individual or community.
Reconciled relationships are produced and nurtured (Poverty Alleviation).
Values each individual as created in the image of God and loved by Him.
Both the giver and receiver are benefited from compassion with dignity. "Win-Win"
Timely in responding (boldly advance in faith when windows of opportunity are presented)
Self-awareness of our own poverty is a safe-guard against “God Complexes” that are toxic and hurtful.
A demonstration of Love reflects the heart of God and the proclamation of Hope reveals the heart of God!
" Establishing Justice, Righteousness, and Peace."
Isa. 32: 16-18
